HI
Spurred on by the impact my own teacher had on me as a child, I first started teaching in 2005.
I believe that musicianship is very important for beginners to learn from the outset, and will jam and play guitar with students as early as possible to give an understanding of playing with other musicians, time keeping, grooving and developing a musical ear.
I focus on creating an individual programme for each student, building on areas which need improving and providing a mix of technical training and fun.
For me, creating an engaging, fun session is important to balance out the technical aspects of learning to play. I love the process of helping people grow as drummers and work with all students from complete beginners to established drummers looking to work on specific techniques. I teach from Sparker Studios on Tidy Street in central Brighton, and work with adults and children.

A BIT OF TRIVIA
Although I didn’t start having lessons until 8 years old, my passion for drums began at the age of 2 on pots and pans with chopsticks!
My Grannie then bought me a toy kit and that was it. I had a set of rota toms after that, began taking lessons, and started gigging in bars and clubs by the age of 12 playing in bands with adults. By the age of 16 I was recording for numerous bands in the UK and USA, and have now worked globally.
